Modern cities don’t have a forum – there’s nowhere for people to meet and talk – nowhere to discuss how we live our lives. Forums create a real sense of community – they bring people together and they give us direct access to our most valuable resource – each other.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE INTERNET?
The Internet doesn’t bring communities together – it leaves people isolated at a computer. Social Media fragments society into separate ‘echo chambers’, rather than real sustainable communities.
PERSONAL DEMOCRACY
Fortunately, most big decisions about our lives are made by us – and not by politicians. A Real Place will be a forum for personal democracy, where we can discuss things that are important to us. It will give us the freedom to find real solutions to the problems of daily life.
